Infant Massage

When: Call for next class time
Cost: $20

Led by Charlotte Del Toro, CIMI, Certified Infant Massage Instructor (IAIM-US)

This is an interactive class, so, please bring your non-crawling baby, and a blanket, pillow or boppie. If you are awaiting your precious arrival, please bring a doll. Handouts and Ayurvedic infant massage oil will be provided for use in class and then to take home.

The class overview covers the benefits of infant massage to your baby and you, types of oils/lotions that are good for baby, infant cues, massage strokes and hand positions to remove stress. Then we move into the the interactive portion-following Charlotte's cues and motions with the demo doll, this gives you hands-on experience with your baby. We finish with Q & A and time for new families to chat.

$20 per family, the class is open to parents-to-be as well other care providers for infants, i.e. grandparents, adoptive parents, and nannies.

“The Basics” Birth Class

When: Call for times
Cost: $45

This class is designed for parents having their first out-of-hospital birth or for those who just want a refresher.  We cover the basics of what to expect during the process of labor and the immediate postpartum time. Things like when to call the midwife, stages of labor, postpartum instructions and general options are discussed. This class is very streamlined to cover the basics in one 3-hour class.

“Basics and Beyond” Full Birth Series

When: Tuesdays in Sept 2010 6-8pm
Cost: $120

This class covers the “nuts and bolts” information about birth, as well as much more. These classes are designed to be more in-depth in assisting expecting parents to prepare for the challenges and concerns that birth and early postpartum care may bring. Principles contained in Pam England’s book titled, Birthing From Within (Partera Press) will be implemented in a series of four 2-hour classes.
