About Centrevida Birth & Wellness Center LLC

CentreVida meaning “Center of Life” is the first facility of its kind in South Austin. The CentreVida Birth and Wellness Center offers comprehensive and personal maternity services with Licensed Midwives, as well as a comfortable community space for childbirth classes, holistic healthcare and parenting support.

Our highly trained staff combines expertise and knowledge with wisdom of the heart to give your family the comfortable, safe and positive experience that all babies and parents desire and deserve. We consider it a true honor to serve our clients through their individual journey in pregnancy, birth and beyond.

Our Philosophy

CentreVida Birth Center provides a warm environment in a home-like setting where women can give birth and receive health care that respects their dreams and encourages their strength.  Our staff believes birth is normal and an emotionally powerful experience.  We believe that when a woman and her family are involved in making decisions about their care, they are more equipped to meet the challenges of parenthood.  We feel a woman is best served through information, partnership, and trust between client and midwife.

At CentreVida, each client will have the same midwife throughout her pregnancy, birth, and postnatal care, as we feel this is an integral part of personalized care.  The woman's primary midwife and another well trained midwife will attend the birth as we believe birth out of the hospital is safest with two well trained midwives.

Safety

'Where and with whom' to birth is one of many decisions most appropriately made by each parent themselves. At CentreVida, our care is centered around the belief that woman and babies instinctively know how to birth and be born.

We work with each family to support their own decisions and believe that every woman and her family should feel accurately informed, supported, respected and safe. For a growing number of families, that includes a planned out-of-hospital birth with a Licensed Midwife.

Midwives provide full prenatal care and skilled monitoring during labor.  If a complication arises during your pregnancy, labor, or postpartum period, your midwives will consult with the appropriate care providers and transfer your care if needed. If you need to go to the hospital, your midwife will go with you to assist you, provide continuity of care and act as your advocate.

Midwives are experts in natural childbirth for low-risk women but also have special training in obstetric emergencies. At the birthing center or home delivery setting, we have the medical equipment and medications to handle problems at the time of delivery, should they occur.
